
Captain Nicholas E. Perugini

Captain Nick Perugini has worked in NOAA's charting program for over 22 years. He has served aboard three hydrographic survey vessels and a shore-based field party. As Commanding Officer of the NOAA Ship RUDE, Nick was in charge of NOAA's survey investigation into the grounding of the Queen Elizabeth 2. He was also a member of NOAA teams that assisted in the TWA Flight 800 and JFK Jr. crash investigations. Other assignments include Chief of the Atlantic Hydrographic Branch and Technical Assistant for the support and development of the Hydrographic Data Acquisition and Processing System. Captain Perugini received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1976 and a Master of Science Degree in Hydrographic Sciences from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1984.
